    Some of you parents in G.H. have been dropping off your children at the Northridge mall on Friday nights. I understand that you think it is O.K., but it just is not.
    The Mall is in chapter 11 and will never get out of is if all people see are screming little kids all night.
    Two years ago, that would have been O.K.,but the mall is now looking for a buyer and can not find one as it is known as the 'kids mall.'
    There are many other aspects to this subject, one being if you drop two hundred teens in one area with no adults, what do you think they are going to do?
    Two, can you take care you them? I work at the Mall, and would hate to see my place closed down because you do not want to spend time with your kid on Friday nights. We are not talking about older kids, these are mostly Junior High kids.
    Please, G.H., invite all those kids you think its so great for your kid to be around all night to YOUR house.If it is such a great idea and the mall kids are so safe and nice, have them over you YOUR house.

Granada Hills Gets Its Own Farmer's Market

I've been wishing for a while now that Granada Hills would have a farmer's market we could call our very own, and now we will! This Friday evening, from 5-9pm at the Granada Hills Masonic Center on Rinaldi (near Hayvenhurst), the Granada Hills Farmer's Market will have its debut. And unlike the April-October market at the Northridge Fashion Center, market manager Ric Alfafara plans to make this a year-round Friday night event. Alfafara, who also co-manages the Van Nuys and Sylmar Farmer's Markets, says, "Everybody's been talking about it, friends who live in Granada Hills have been saying we need a market out here. And so I talked to the Freemasons (who sponsor the market), and they said that they want to get involved with the community, they want to get the community up and strong. There Is Such A Thing As A Free Cappuccino...

Every weekday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., Lead Pastor Darrell Maston and his crew give out free coffee and hot chocolate from the parking lot of Center Church, at the corner of San Jose and Louise, directly across the street from Patrick Henry Middle School. So what kind of hoop are they gonna try to make you jump through? After all, we're not talking drip here, we're talking cappuccinos and espressos . I wanted to get to the bottom of this, so I headed to the portable coffee cart and peppered the boss man with questions. What are you doing here, and why? We are handing out free espresso drinks and hot chocolate, and on Thursdays we do Krispy Kremes, and it's all free. We roll out here about 6:30, get it set up by 7:00. We're doing it just 'cause we want to be a blessing to our community, and let them know we're here. People wonder why we're doing it, and it's pretty much as easy as that, just to be a blessing.
